The Wall Street Journal Articles
Locate one current controversy, dispute, or case using The Wall Street Journal that involves discrimination (see Wall Street Journal Resources in Getting Started). Then choose either Levitz and Shishkin’s 2009 article, “More Workers Cite Age Bias After Layoffs,” or Jones’ 2007 article, “Sidley Austin LLP Settles Age-Discrimination Suit.” Consider the challenges to the balance between law, legal action, and practical business concerns. Analyze strategies and tactics HRM professionals can implement to restore this balance. Provide workplace examples where possible.
If after a thorough search of The Wall Street Journal, you cannot locate a current controversy, discuss both linked cases.
